UP: After Bahraich, Wolf Terror Reigns In Kanpur Villages

A wolf has terrorised 2 villages in Kanpur, attacking four individuals in two days. Earlier, 5 wolves from a pack of 6 that was attacking people in Bahraich, were caught by the forest department.

Wolf In Kanpur: Nearly 200 km away from Bahraich, a wolf has been terrorising Kanpur. In the space of two days, it has attacked four people. The wolf has been seen in villages on the edge of the forest along Semariywa and Behta villages in Kanpur. The locals of these villages were attacked by the wolf while they were working in the fields. The villagers have blamed the forest department for the attack.

Three people from Semariywa and Behta villages in the Narwal police station area of Kanpur were injured in a wolf attack late on Thursday evening. The attack occurred when Jagrup's 10-year-old son, Shanu, and 44-year-old Rambhahadur, both from Semariya village, were working in the field.

Suddenly the wolf crept up to them and attacked. Before they could react, the wolf slashed and bit Rambahadur and grabbed the child in its jaws. Somehow, both escaped the wolf's attack and fled to the village. The wolf also attacked 50-year-old Ramkishor, who lives in a nearby village.

Bahraich Wolf Travelled To Kanpur?

The next day, the wolf attacked another person named Prakash, who was also working in his field at the time. So far, the attacks seem to have been the work of only one wolf. It is not known whether it is from the pack, five of which were caught in Bahraich this month.

As per forest officials, the Bahraich pack had six wolves. However, one wolf still remains at large.

The villagers are in a state of panic due to the increasing number of wolf attacks in the area. Children are not going out late at night, and neither are the elderly. The attacks have everyone terrified. The villagers allege that the forest department team is neither laying any traps in the village nor making any arrangements to catch it.

People from several villages in Narwal are in a state of panic due to the wild animal's attack. The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment, after which the villagers are now refusing to go to the fields. The forest department said that it was trying to catch the wolf, but the villagers alleged that it had not made any arrangements to trap the wild animal. No investigation has been carried out.
