Two bike-borne men were caught on CCTV allegedly conducting a recce of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut's residence, Maitri Bungalow, in Mumbai's Bhandup, around 9:30 AM Friday, December 20. After Raut raised an alarm, police teams from the Mumbai police were deployed at the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader's residence. The police are now gathering details.

The development comes just months after NCP MLA Baba Siddiqui was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan Siqqiqui's office.

Reacting to the incident, Sanjay Raut said, "Not only my house but Saamana office andmy Delhi house were also spied upon." Saamana is the mouthpiece of the Shiv Sena (UBT).

Sanjay Raut's brother and Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Sunil Raut said that the bike stopped in front of their house. "The bike's number plate wasn't visible, but it seemed to be from Uttar Pradesh or Bihar," he said.

Sunil Raut also said that both the men on the bike were wearing full helmets and jackets, which could make identification harder. "They had a total of 10 mobile phones on them. After recording footage of the house, they left. This is very concerning, and the police should take it seriously and investigate. The police have arrived now," he said.

As of now, the Mumbai Police has formed a total of eight teams to investigate this case, and an FIR has not been registered yet. The police is scanning the footage of the entire area but has not been able to find any information about those bike riders till now.
