Sambhal News: Cases Against MP Ziaur Rahman Faked By Yogi Govt, UP Police

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has accused the UP government of fabricating the cases against SP MP Ziaur Rahman in the Sambhal violence.

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav has accused the government and police of faking stories about the Sambhal violence in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking to reporters in the Parliament complex on Tuesday, Yadav called the police's actions misleading and called the FIR against SP MP Ziaur Rahman Barq as false.

Speaking about the Sambhal incident, Yadav said, "Today, we are celebrating Constitution Day, but the real celebration will be when we actually follow the Constitution's path. We are true socialists. How can celebrations take place where lives have been lost? The government is to blame solely. If a survey has already been conducted, why conduct it again? The government wants to ensure the Opposition cannot reach there or raise their voices, which is why the internet has been shut down."

He added that SP representatives would visit Sambhal soon. He, too, would visit after that, Yadav said. "Our delegation will go, and later I will visit, too. The government should assist the affected families, or else we will provide help. What action has the government taken against those who opened fire?" Yadav questioned.

The SP chief alleged that party supporters were not allowed to cast their votes and that local officials were intimidating residents, even pointing guns at women.

Pramod Krishnam Slams Akhilesh Yadav

Akhilesh Yadav's remarks drew sharp criticism from spiritual leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who accused him of political theatrics. "First, they instigate stone pelting and riots, and then they send delegations. Akhilesh Yadav is a 'master player' and showcases various political stunts," he remarked.

Improving Conditions in Sambhal

Meanwhile, the situation in Sambhal is gradually stabilising. On Tuesday, three days after violence erupted during a survey at the disputed Jama Masjid, schools reopened, and daily life began to return to normal. The incident on Sunday led to stone-pelting and arson, resulting in four deaths and injuries to around 20 people.

On Monday, police arrested 25 individuals in connection with the violence. Although some shops remained closed, several areas saw markets reopening. Schools resumed on Tuesday, and essential services were back in operation. However, internet services remain suspended, causing inconvenience to residents.
