Traffic restrictions will be in place in parts of Delhi today due to the 'Run For Unity' event organised to celebrate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary. 


Traffic restrictions are effective around India Gate, C-Hexagon from 6:45 am till the completion of the event. Delhi Traffic police said, "Special traffic arrangements have been made in view of 'Run For Unity' from Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on October 29, 2024 in celebration of #RashtriyaEktaDiwas."

Diversions have been announced in Tilak Marg-Bhagwan Dass Road Crossing, Purana Quila Road-Mathura Road Crossing, Shershah Road-Mathura Road Crossing, Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg-Subramanian Bharti Marg Crossing, Pandara Road-Subramanian Bharti Marg Crossing, R/A Mansingh Road, R/A Jaswant Singh Road, K.G Marg-Firozshah Road Crossing and R/A Mandi House.






Patel's birth anniversary is on October 31, but this year's celebration has been scheduled for October 29 as announced by Prime Minister Modi during his Mann Ki Baat address. Meanwhile, traffic is affected on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway in the carriageway from Ghazipur towards Sarai Kale Khan due to the breakdown of an MGV. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly.


The Delhi Traffic Police in its advisory said around 7,700 people will take part in the ‘Run for Unity’, which will begin from Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.
