RG Kar CBI News: Ahead of the fourth hearing in the RG Kar Medical College doctor's rape-murder case in the Supreme Court on Tuesday, the ruling Trinamool Congress is facing intense heat from the CBI. Early on Tuesday, the central agency conducted raids at six more locations in Kolkata, including the house of a TMC MLA, in the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital corruption case.
Less than 24 hours ago, the protesting doctors in Kolkata secured a major victory as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had to accept some of their key demands. Now, with Trinamool MLA Sudipta Roy's house and nursing home in Sinthee being raided, the Mamata Banerjee government will feel even more cornered. Srirampur Trinamool MLA Sudipta Roy is also the chairman of RG Kar Medical's Patients' Welfare Association.
Another ED team was present at the home of a medicine and drugs vendor, Sandeep Jain, on Ballygunge Circular Road.
Earlier in the RG Kar Medical College corruption probe, the ED had raided three places, including Sandip Ghosh's Chinar Park house. Sandip Ghosh's mother and father were called for questioning as well. The central agency also raided the house of Chandan Lauha, a close aide of Sandip Ghosh, and the office of the medical equipment supplier.

CM Mamata To Appoint New Kolkata Police Commissioner Today
CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday accepted most of the protesting doctors' demands in their five-point charter and decided to transfer a section of the Kolkata Police and the state health department top brass, including Commissioner Vineet Goyal. CM also removed the Director of Medical Education (DME) Kaustab Naik and the Director of Health Services (DHS) Debashis Halder from their positions as well as the Deputy Commissioner (North Division), who, the father of the RG Kar MCH rape-murder victim alleged, offered money to the family to "hush up the case".
The agitators, however, said that the assurances were all verbal and that their strike would continue until the orders were implemented. The junior doctors are still adamant in their demands for the resignation of the health secretary. The Chief Minister said that the change in the Kolkata Police leadership would be announced after 4 PM on Tuesday.
