Rajasthan’s administrative and security machinery was placed on high alert on Tuesday after collectorates in Sikar, Pali, Bhilwara and Dausa received threatening emails claiming that explosives had been planted on their premises. According to officials, the Sikar Collectorate received the threat email just minutes before a scheduled meeting that was to be chaired by the Chief Secretary.
As a precaution, officers promptly evacuated the building and shifted the meeting to the Police Lines auditorium. Police personnel, administrative officers, and a bomb-detection squad launched a thorough sweep of the premises, while security measures were tightened across the district, news agency IANS reported.
In Pali, a similar email landed in the District Collector’s inbox, warning that a bomb would detonate on the premises. Police officials immediately cleared the building and summoned bomb-disposal and dog squads from Jodhpur. The area remains cordoned off as a precautionary measure.
Bhilwara administration also received a comparable threat. Staff members were evacuated, public entry was restricted, and a bomb squad from Ajmer was called in. Authorities confirmed that a high-alert order has been imposed across the district.
In Dausa, Collector Devendra Kumar contacted Superintendent of Police Sagar Rana after receiving an identical email threat. Officials said civil-defence teams and police personnel carried out a meticulous search of the premises, while employees waited outside.
Rajasthan Cybercrime Units Trying To Trace Origin Of Bomb Threat Emails
Cybercrime units in all four districts are working to trace the origin of the emails. However, no sender has been identified so far. Police officials stated that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness, especially given past instances where bomb hoaxes disrupted government operations in the state, as per IANS.
Authorities have advised the public to avoid visiting the affected collectorates until security checks are completed.
The latest wave of threats comes days after Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium received a similar bomb threat on May 14. The email, sent to the official ID of the Rajasthan Sports Council, carried the subject line “HMX Bomb Blast Sawai Mansingh Stadium Operation Prabhakar Divij.” It included a chilling message: “Don’t mess with Pakistan. We have sleeper cells in India. Your hospitals will also be blown up for Operation Sindoor.”
