Chennai Power Cut On February 13, 2025: The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) has announced a scheduled power shutdown across multiple areas in Chennai on Thursday, February 13, 2025, for maintenance work. The power outage will last from 9 AM to 2 PM, though officials have assured that electricity supply will be restored earlier if work is completed ahead of schedule.

A total of 40 locations will be affected, including major areas such as Porur, East Mogappair, and Redhills. Prominent localities like Iyyappanthangal and Vanagaram will also experience the shutdown.

Porur: Iyyappanthangal, RR Nagar, Kattupakkam, Pushpa Nagar, Venugopal Nagar, Annai Indira Nagar, Valasaravakkam (part), Porur Garden Phase 1 & 2, Ramasamy Nagar, Urban Tree, Arcot Road (part), MM Estate, GK Estate, Chinna Porur, Vanagaram (part), Baraniputhur, Karambakkam, Samayapuram, Ponni Nagar, Chettiyar Agaram, Poonamallee Road (part), Periya Kolathuvancheri, Maduram Nagar, Thelliaragaram.

East Mogappair: Elango Nagar, Moorthy Nagar, Sathiyavathy Nagar, Officers Colony, Pink Avenue, EB Colony, Rathinam Street.

Redhills: Eswaran Nagar, Pammadukulam Colony, Indira Nagar, T.H. Road, Solaiamman Nagar, Gandhi Nagar.

Bengaluru Power Cut

Meanwhile, in Bengaluru, power supply will be affected on February 13 due to ongoing work related to the Atal Bhujal Yojana, a key infrastructure upgrade project under the Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM).

The areas to be affected in Bengaluru on February 13 include Hanumantapura, Kuvempu Nagar, Adarsha Nagar, Anetota, Jagannathapura, Sharadadevi Nagar, Ganesh Nagar, Nirvani Layout.

Residents in both cities are advised to plan accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

Precautionary Measures

Ensure electronic devices are charged or switched off to avoid damage during the outage.

Use inverters or generators if available.
