Holi in UP: The administration and police in Uttar Pradesh are on high alert in view of the Holi celebration and Jumma namaz prayers on Friday. The police are on their toes following intelligence inputs of miscreants trying to disrupt the celebrations and prayers in the state.

As many as 27 'sensitive' districts have been put on high alert. Among them are Sambhal, Meerut, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Budaun, Bareilly, Kanpur, Hardoi, Lucknow, Pratapgarh, Agra, Aligarh, Mathura, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Ghazipur, Ballia, Varanasi, and Chandauli.

Central police forces and 60 companies of PAC have been deployed in the sensitive districts by the headquarters level. Instructions have been given to monitor Holi procession routes with drone cameras. It has also been said that under no circumstances should there be a clash between Friday prayers and Holi processions.

The police have said that no new traditions will be allowed. DJ performances exceeding the permitted noise levels will not be allowed during Holi celebrations. All emergency vehicles under UP 112 will be deployed in sensitive areas.

Drones Used To Monitor Situation 

On the security arrangements before Holi and Jumma namaz, DCP Central M Harsh Vardhan says, "Adequate security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order. Different teams are on patrol. Drones are being used for monitoring. It will be peaceful tomorrow. Sensitive areas have been marked, and additional police force has been deployed in those areas..."

The police are also conducting flag marches in various districts to ensure no untoward incident occurs.
