Mumbai faced a horrifying incident in the early hours of Friday when the body of a young child was found inside a dustbin in the bathroom of a train coach. The shocking discovery was made in AC Coach B2 of the Kushinagar Express (Train No. 22537) at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) around 1 a.m., while cleaning staff were preparing the train for its next journey as the Kashi Express (15017).

Police were called immediately, and the Government Railway Police (GRP) have started a full investigation.

Victim Was a 3-Year-Old Boy, Cousin Suspected

Investigators later confirmed that the victim was a three-year-old boy. According to officials, he was killed by slitting his throat and then hidden inside the coach’s dustbin.

The child’s mother had already complained to Amroli Police Station in Surat, Gujarat, on August 21, saying her son was kidnapped by his cousin. Police now believe that family disputes may have led to the crime.

The suspect, 25-year-old Vikas Shah, is on the run. Police said they are tracking him and expect an arrest soon.

Body Sent for Postmortem

Police are in touch with the boy’s family to confirm more details. The body has been sent for a postmortem to find out the exact cause of death. Forensic teams and railway police are also helping with the investigation.

Baby Girl Abducted from Mathura Station

In another shocking case, a one-year-old girl was kidnapped from Platform No. 1 at Mathura Junction railway station on Friday night.

The family, from Jabalpur, was waiting for their train when the incident happened around 10 p.m. The mother, Pooja, had gone to the restroom when she saw a man walking away with her baby. She raised an alarm, but the accused jumped onto the moving Sampark Kranti Express and escaped with the child.

CCTV Shows Suspect, Search On

CCTV footage from the station shows the man carrying the girl. Based on this, three police teams have been sent out to find him and rescue the child. Officials confirmed that a large search is now underway.
