A massive fire broke out in over two dozen shanties near the gate of Film City in Mumbai’s Aarey Colony on Thursday. Reports cited a cylinder blast as the reason for the massive fire. It also confirmed that so far six cylinders have exploded.
The fire has engulfed godowns and houses near the road leading from the Film City gate to Aarey Colony. Flames were rising intensely. The fire brigade team along with Dindoshi police reached the spot soon after they received the information about the incident.
Fire Breaks Out In Indore Factory
In a separate incident, a massive fire broke out in a factory in the Banganga area of Indore, Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday (February 12). The blaze is still being brought under control by the fire department. As a result of the fire, a structure in the factory collapsed.
Several rows of tankers filled with water were seen at the scene to help with the fire-controlling operations, while fire officials were trying to stream it at the blaze to douse it. The structure which was almost charred had collapsed after it was engulfed by the fire.
Meanwhile, according to PTI, a massive fire broke out in an industrial area in Indore's Tigria Badshah locality, which destroyed two factories. No casualties have been reported so far.
The fire started in a factory dealing with ink and printing-related work before spreading to a neighbouring unit. Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the site as firefighters worked to control the blaze.
According to fire department sub-inspector Roopchand Pandit, the tin walls of both factories collapsed during the incident. Heavy machinery was used to remove the debris, and the fire was eventually brought under control. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
The cause of the blaze and the damage suffered by the two units were yet to be ascertained. No employee was present in the two factories at the time of the incident, eyewitness Vishal Tomar said.
