A disturbing incident from Mumbai's Malad suburb has come to the fore where a man was caught on CCTV throwing a cat from the ninth floor of a residential building. The incident, which reportedly took place in the Malvani area, has sparked widespread outrage online after the video went viral.

Footage from a security camera installed on the premises shows the cat standing calmly on a shoe rack near a window in a corridor. Moments later, a man is seen in frame, carrying a bag. He then proceeds to place the bag near what appears to be his apartment door.

Later, he suddenly turns back towards the cat, grabbing the unsuspecting animal, and hurling it out of the window. He can also be seen looking out of the window after throwing the cat out.

According to a report by the Free Press Journal, the cat fell onto a metal canopy below and died instantly.

A complaint has been filed against the man, who has been identified as Kasam Sayyed. He owns a flat in the society.

In a separate video circulating on social media, a resident can be seen filming the scene, demanding for strict action against Sayyed. The video shows the flat where the man resides and the window from which the cat was thrown.

The person recording is seen holding a letter addressed to the Malvani police, appealing to authorities to take immediate legal action. He also invokes the name of local MLA Aslam Shaikh in his plea for justice.

The shocking footage has triggered a wave of anger online, with many demanding that the accused face criminal charges under animal cruelty laws. While a complaint has been lodged, there is no official confirmation yet regarding any arrest or legal proceedings initiated against the accused.
