In a shocking incident in Madhya Pradesh, a woman in Panna district allegedly mixed sleeping pills in her father's tea, and then called her lover to hack him to death as he lay unconscious in their house.
According to police, the lovers conspired to kill the man as he opposed his daughter's relationship, reported the Times of India.
The accused has been identified as Rambai, 30, and her lover Raju Dumar, 35, of Ramjupur village. The two were in a relationship for three years but Ramkesh Yadav, Rambai's father, did not approve of their relation and repeatedly told her to stay away from him, as per the police.

Lovers Hatch Sinister Plot
As part of the sinister plot hatched by the couple, the daughter allegedly laced her father's tea with sleeping pills and called Raju at her home as soon as he fell unconscious. Raju came with an axe and murdered the sleeping man, as per the police.
However, the police were informed about the incident by Rambai. First responders came to the gory scene, with blood all over the room in which Ramkesh was murdered. Rambai cooked up a story and told them sobbing that she had gone to the forest with her aunty to collect Mahua around midnight and found her father dead upon returning from the woods on Wednesday morning, the police said, according to the TOI report.
However, the officers suspected her statements and timelines and began questioning her on the discrepancies. She admitted to the murder plot later and the two were arrested on Thursday, said an official.
The incident was reported just a day after a businessman in Gwalior died by suicide after his daughter eloped and married against his wishes.
