MP Teacher Helps Students Cheat By Writing Answers On Blackboard, Suspended After Video Goes Viral

A Madhya Pradesh teacher was suspended after she was caught helping students cheat by solving the question paper on the blackboard.

The incident from February 25 was caught on camera in MP’s Betul district. In response, the school has suspended the teacher and initiated an inquiry. During the exam, primary school teacher Sangeeta Vishwakarma was seen writing answers to the mathematics question paper on the blackboard, allowing students to cheat.

The viral video forced the district administration to take immediate notice.

According to India Today news, Betul Collector Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi ordered an urgent investigation, considering the seriousness of the matter.

While carrying out an enquiry, the allegations of facilitating cheating against the teacher were confirmed to be true. This led to her suspension.

According to the report, Assistant Commissioner of the Tribal Affairs Department Shilpa Jain reportedly said that Sangeeta Vishwakarma was assigned by be an invigilator in the examination hall. However, Jain stated that Vishwakarma had misused her position by solving the question paper on the blackboard, thereby enabling students to cheat.

"Following her suspension, a disciplinary enquiry has been initiated against the teacher. If further serious charges are proven, strict action may be taken against her," said Jain, as quoted by India Today. Jain further mentioned that action is being considered against the examination centre head and assistant centre head. If necessary, an FIR may also be registered based on the findings of the investigation.
