A 29-year-old man in Rajasthan's Kota has been arrested in a chilling case involving the molestation of a minor using a live cobra to scare her.

The accused, identified as Mohammed Imran, was also allegedly involved in duping people by posing as a traditional healer.

Imran, originally from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh, was staying with his wife in a rented apartment under the jurisdiction of the Railway Colony police station. A complaint was filed on Sunday alleging that Imran sexually exploited a minor girl, filmed her in compromising situations, and used a venomous cobra to frighten her into silence.

"She said Imran would threaten to kill her with the cobra if she disclosed her ordeal to anyone else," said Railway police station SHO Ramswroop.

The complainant, a relative of the girl, uncovered the abuse after discovering objectionable content on Imran’s phone. The accused also reportedly cheated the girl's grandfather of Rs 1.36 lakh.

Counterfeit Notes And Illegal Snake Seized

Police seized fake Indian currency amounting to Rs 7.20 lakh during a raid on Imran's residence. A forest department team was brought in to remove the live cobra he allegedly used to terrify victims.

"The complainant also accused Imran of keeping a cobra in his room to frighten women and girls before molesting them and to cheat people," Kota City SP Amrita Duhan said.
