Bihar News: A man in Bihar's Samastipur has filed a complaint against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleging that he caused him to drop a bucket of milk, resulting in a loss of Rs 250.
Mukesh Chaudhary claimed that he was shocked upon hearing Gandhi's "fight against the Indian state" remark last week. "I was in such a state of shock that my bucket full of five litres of milk, priced at Rs 50 per litre, slipped off my hand. Rahul Gandhi was threatening the sovereignty of the nation," alleged Chaudhary.
Chaudhary also showed the media a copy of his petition, filed in the civil court of the Rosera sub-division. He sought Gandhi's trial under various BNS sections, including 152 that pertains to sedition.
Rahul Gandhi Unwell, May Skip Gandhi Bharat Event
Meanwhile, Gandhi is unlikely to take part in the Gandhi Bharat event in Belagavi today as he is unwell. Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said the entire leadership of the Congress party will take part in the function.
Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other senior Congress functionaries are expected to take part in the event at the district headquarters town of Belagavi bordering Maharashtra. A statue of Mahatma Gandhi is set to be unveiled at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha and a public meeting has also been scheduled to be held at the CPED grounds, as per sources cited by PTI.
The Gandhi Bharat event, to commemorate the centenary of the lone Congress session presided by Mahatma Gandhi at Belagavi in 1924, was originally scheduled to be held on December 27. It was postponed due to the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
