Maharashtra News: A woman created a ruckus on Friday, September 27, outside the office of Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis at the state secretariat in Mumbai. She removed the nameplate of the Deputy CM and threw it away. The incident happened on the sixth floor of the secretariat building. The woman's face can be seen in the CCTV footage. However, the identity is yet to be ascertained. The police have started searching for the woman.

The woman suddenly vandalised Devendra Fadnavis's office and quickly left the ministry. This incident has the secretariat security personnel on high alert. According to an initial probe, the suspect had entered the ministry without a pass. She entered the premises via the secretariat gate and snuck past the guards to gain entry into the high-security building.

What Police Say

The Police Commissioner said that the department has taken this incident seriously and an urgent search for the woman has been launched. The police officer said that the woman first went into the premises. After some time, she was on her way out of the ministry. However, on reaching the gate, she traced her steps back to the building and went to the sixth floor again. Once outside the office of Devendra Fadnavis, she created a ruckus by raising slogans.

Although staffers and security personnel posted at the secretariat tried to detain her, she managed to give them the slip after the incident. According to India Today, she was angry over some unresolved issue pertaining to her house.

This incident has exposed the loopholes in the security system at the secretariat. The woman entered the ministry on Thursday night. At that time, police presence in the area was thin. Therefore, she could easily enter the premises unnoticed by anyone.
