Mumbai Police has yet not succeded in securing Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's custody, who is lodged in the Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The gangster has been involved in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, who was shot dead outside his son's office in Mumbai on Dussehra.

Bishnoi was moved to the Sabarmati jail from Delhi's Tihar in August 2023 in connection with a drug smuggling case and the Ministry of Home Affairs had issued an order under Section 268 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) stating that no state or agency can seek his custody for a year. It is now reported that the order has been extended for another year, stopping other states to seek Bishnoi's custody. Lawrence Bishnoi, born in 1993, hails from Dhattaranwali village near Punjab's Abohar.

Security Increased Outside Salman Khan's House

Meanwhile, security has been increased at Salman Khan's house. Nearly a dozen cops have been deployed outside the Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. In April, the gang made headlines after taking responsibility for the firing outside Salman Khan's house, Galaxy Apartments, in Bandra. The gang operates through several Indian states, including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh, and even has ties abroad, especially in Canada.

After killing Baba Siddique, the Bishnoi gang's post mentioned that they targeted him because of his close connection with Salman Khan, whom the Bishnoi gang has been targeting since he hunted two blackbucks during the shooting of the film 'Hum Sath Sath Hein'. Blackbucks are worshipped by the Bishnoi community. The post also threatened that anyone who helps Salman Khan or the Dawood gang should be prepared.
