Jammu and Kashmir MLAs on Wednesday clashed inside the premises of the state legislative assembly.

The house has been adjourned till 1 pm, following an uproar by NC MLAs demanding a discussion on the Waqf Act.

J&K People’s Conference chief Sajad Lone said, "... We demanded that the Speaker either goes back to his chambers temporarily and Mubarak Gul take over for the time being and our work will be done. We also brought in a no-confidence motion. If he persists, then I think the no-confidence motion should be successful... Discussions on the Waqf bill will be held if they (NC) want..."

What J&K Assembly LoP Said?

J&K Assembly LoP Sunil Sharma said, "We had brought in an adjournment motion because we wanted a discussion to regularise daily wagers and employment of the unemployed youth. The government is running away from these discussions and trying to deviate from real issues. For the thrid day in a row, MLAs created ruckus in the assembly. They created an issue out of the Waqf Amendment Bill, which has been implemented today and become an Act. They want to save land jihadis... The common masses have understood the real face of the NC...
