A deadly collision involving a truck and an LPG tanker led to a massive explosion that claimed at least seven lives and torched several other vehicles near a petrol pump on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway. The explosion created an inferno, which spread nearly 300 metres. Now, a CCTV footage of the incident has come to the fore which shows the massive impact of the explosion. At least 40 people suffered burn injuries in the incident.






The Centre has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the victims, while the state said it will grant an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh. The next of kin of the deceased will be given Rs 5 lakh by the state government while the injured will be given a sum of Rs 1 lakh as compensation by the Rajasthan government.






Immediately after the accident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma posted on X: "I am deeply saddened to hear the sad news of casualties in the gas tanker fire incident on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway. As soon as the information about the incident was received, I went to SMS Hospital and directed the doctors to provide immediate necessary medical facilities and take proper care of the injured."
