J&K Weather Update: Srinagar Records Coldest Night Of The Season, Ladakh Freezes In Sub-Zero Temperatures

The freezing temperatures have intensified the cold wave across these regions, with forecasts indicating that the chill will persist.

The winter chill has fully gripped the regions of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, as temperatures dropped to sub-zero levels across the Union Territories. Last night marked the season's coldest temperatures so far, with Srinagar recording -5.4°C, while Sonamarg emerged as one of the coldest locations in the Kashmir Valley, plummeting to -9.7°C.  The Jammu region also experienced a biting cold, with Padder hitting -7.7°C, the lowest in the region. Meanwhile, according to the Meteorological Department, Ladakh remained the coldest area, with Leh freezing at -13.2°C.
