8-Year-Old Girl Kidnapped By Drug Addict For ₹20,000 Ransom

In a similar incident, an eight-year-old girl was kidnapped by a 21-year-old drug addict in Delhi. The girl was rescued from a moving train in Bihar's Buxar. The accused had abducted the girl for ransom to buy drugs, police said.

The father of the girl approached the police after not finding her at home when he returned from work. The father received a ransom demand of ₹20,000 on his mobile phone several times.

After analysing CCTV camera footage, the police team managed to find out that a person wearing a red and black colour check shirt and half pants was seen taking the girl with him. It was also revealed that the accused had been staying in the area for the last two-three days at the house of an acquaintance.

Based on the phone calls, the man's location was located in a running train near Buxar in Bihar. The railway police at Buxar and Arrah stations were alerted and details were shared with them. The railway police team rescued the girl after identifying her by her photographs, and nabbed the kidnapper. The accused said he came to Delhi to work as a labourer and was in need of money to buy drugs.
