An elderly pedestrian in Hyderabad’s Alwal area died from severe head injuries on Thursday following a brutal assault by a motorbike rider. The incident, which took place on September 30, was sparked after 65-year-old Anjaneyulu asked the rider to slow down while walking along the street.


Captured on CCTV, the footage shows the motorbike rider responding aggressively to Anjaneyulu’s request. The rider, who had a woman and child accompanying him on the bike, parked the vehicle and proceeded to physically assault Anjaneyulu. Despite attempts by the woman to calm him down, the rider violently shoved the elderly man to the ground, while shocked bystanders watched the attack unfold.

Anjaneyulu was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital by his family but despite medical intervention he succumbed to his injuries on October 14. The severe head trauma sustained during the attack proved fatal.


Following the incident, the Alwal Police Station registered a case and arrested the motorbike rider. Authorities are conducting a further investigation into the matter. The tragic death has raised concerns about rising road rage incidents and the safety of pedestrians.
