In a tragic incident, three men, who went for a post-Holi outing, got drowned in Indrayani river in Pune district on Friday evening.


The incident happened near Kinhai village in Dehu Road area of Pimpri Chinchwad, a police official said.


As per the information provided by the officer, the deceased have been identified as Raj Aghame (25), Akash Gorde (24) and Gautam Kamble (24).


Vikram Bansode, senior cop of Dehu Road police, said that five friends went to the Bodkewadi bund on the Indrayani at Kinai village after celebrating Holi. He said, "As four of them entered the river water, one started drowning. The three others tried to save him, but they drowned. The friend who was initially drowning managed to swim to safety."


He added that as soon as the information was recieved, they alerted the fire brigade officials, NDRF and rescue team. Nilesh Garade of Wanyajeev Rakshak Maval said their rescue team recovered the three bodies within 15 minutes. A case of accidental death has been registered and further probe is underway.

4 Teenage Boys Drowned In Ulhas River


Four teenage boys drowned in Ulhas river in Thane district's Badlapur area on Friday afternoon, a police official said, PTI reported.


The deceased have been identified as Aryan Medar (15), Om Singh Tomar (15), Siddharth Singh (16), and Aryan Singh (16). They all were the residents of Poddar Gruh Complex in Chamtoli and students of 10th Standard.


The official said that they had ventured into the river after celebrating Holi and got swept away when its water level rose suddenly.


"The bodies of the four have been recovered and have been sent to Badlapur rural hospital for post mortem. A case has been registered and probe is underway," the official added.
