Five people, including four minors, died in a road accident after the motorcycle they were travelling on was hit by a speeding truck in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur district, police said on Thursday. The incident occurred on Wednesday night near Miniland School on Bulandshahr Road, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Hapur police station, reported news agency. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vineet Bhatnagar confirmed the details of the accident.

According to initial reports, Danish, aged 40, a resident of Rafiqnagar, was returning from a swimming pool located at a friend's farmhouse in the Hapur area. Danish was accompanied by his two children and his brother's two children, all of whom were minors aged between 8 and 11 years.

The group was riding on a motorcycle when a fast-moving truck collided with their vehicle near the school. Police said the impact of the collision was severe enough to kill all five individuals on the spot.

"The accident occurred near the Miniland School on Bulandshahr Road in the Hapur police station area on Wednesday night," Additional SP Vineet Bhatnagar was quoted as saying by PTI.

The driver of the truck fled the scene following the collision and has not yet been located. According to the police, efforts are underway to trace the individual. The truck involved in the crash has been seized by law enforcement officials as part of the investigation.

Upon receiving information about the incident, police teams were immediately dispatched to the location. The bodies of the deceased were recovered and have been sent for post-mortem examination.

Authorities are continuing with their investigation to gather more details about the exact sequence of events and to identify the driver of the truck.

As of now, no further information has been released about the identity of the minors or the owner of the truck.
