A-14-year old girl was allegedly raped in the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. The incident led to a protest in the area on Thursday, with an enraged crowd setting vehicles on fire. Police apprehended a man, who works as a scrap dealer, in connection with the rape of a minor.
According to India Today, this incident took place in the Link Road area. The accused, a scrap dealer, allegedly broke into the home of the girl through the back door, drugged her, and then sexually assaulted her with the help of his accessories.

The girl was reportedly also beaten by the accused. Locals claimed that more than one person was involved in the crime. Dissatisfied with the arrest of only one suspect, residents staged protests on Thursday. They vandalised shops and various parked vehicles in the area.
Gathered outside the Link Road police station, protestors demanded justice and called for the death penalty for those responsible. As the protest disrupted traffic, police used minimal force to disperse the crowd gathered in front of the police station gate.
Additional Commissioner of Ghaziabad, Dinesh Kumar P, told ANI, " Yesterday, a complaint was received, a rape case was registered in connection with that and the accused was arrested...today family of the victim is saying that more people could be involved in this crime, we are probing that angle as well. Medical of the girl has been done and the main accused has been arrested. Further action will be taken after further investigation"
Dalit Girl Raped By 35-Year-Old Man
A similar incident was reported on August 27 in the Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh where a 4-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by a 35-year-old man in a village within the Maharajganj area.
The identified accused, Salman, was arrested after an encounter with the police a few hours after the crime. During the encounter, the accused suffered a bullet injury in his leg while attempting to flee, according to police.
The incident occurred on Monday evening when Salman, who is a resident of the same village as the girl, allegedly lured her near his house and raped her before fleeing the scene, news agency PTI reported.
