Firozabad News: When a Rs 30-lakh theft was solved by the Firozabad Police in Uttar Pradesh, the victim received a rude shock along with his valuables. The theft occurred in the Rasoolpur police station area. Following an investigation, the police arrested two suspects and recovered stolen jewellery valued at approximately Rs 28 lakh from them.

The police also seized Rs 2,34,000 in cash and an illegal firearm from the suspects. The arrested individuals were identified as Rashim Khan and Mohammad Sarif Khan. So, if nearly everything was recovered, why was the victim shocked?

The Theft

On December 3, Asad Ahmed, a resident of Rasoolpur, attended a wedding ceremony with his family. During this time, thieves broke into his home and stole valuables, including jewellery, worth lakhs. The operation was timed with their visit to the wedding.

Sarif Khan masterminded the theft. He had hidden Rashim Khan in the victim's warehouse before the incident. While attending the wedding, Sarif continuously updated Rashim via phone about developments at the house. To gain entry, Rashim used a duplicate key and a saw to break open the doors before fleeing with the jewellery and cash.

To uncover the details of this case, Senior Superintendent of Police Saurabh Dixit directed the Rasoolpur police and surveillance teams to investigate. They reviewed footage from around 50 CCTV cameras in the vicinity, which ultimately led to the identification of the suspects.

On December 6, both suspects were apprehended near Fatehabad Bridge. Police recovered the gold jewellery, cash and the gun along with live cartridges from them. During interrogation, the suspects admitted they were in debt and had planned the theft as a quick way out of their loans.

It turned out that Sarif was a relative of the victim. That's how he knew that Asad Ahmed would not be home at the time. It was Sarif who planned the entire operation.

Firozabad SP City Ravi Shankar Prasad said that within three days, the police had solved the case. He confirmed that Sarif Khan conspired with his accomplice Rashim Khan to execute this crime.
