The fire broke out around 3:00 PM on Thursday. Around 8 fire tenders were sent to the spot to fight the blaze. Visuals from the site showed a thick blanket of smoke covering the area.

There was no blast heard before the transformer caught fire. No casualty has been reported so far in the incident.

Incident Comes Three Days After Jafrabad Fire

The Delhi AIIMS fire broke out just three days after a blaze at a clothes shop in Noorani Market, Chauhan Bangar, Delhi. The fire spread to the upper four floors of the shop in no time and two houses in front of the shop also caught fire. About 30 people evacuated the buildings just in time in time. As soon as the alert was received on Monday night, eight fire engines reached the spot.

However, the fire brigade vehicles faced a roadblock in the area as they could not enter the street because of the web of wires hanging. The vehicles were parked on Brahmapuri Road. Water was supplied from there through a 100-metre pipe. The fire was brought under control in about six hours.

No casualty was reported. It is suspected that the fire occurred due to a short circuit in the shop. Jafrabad police station has registered a case and is investigating the matter.
