The cause of the blast near PVR Prashant Vihar in Rohini, Delhi, today is still being ascertained by the Delhi Police. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the incident. The event occurred around 11:45 a.m. when the local police station received information about the blast. One individual sustained minor injuries and was discharged after receiving preliminary medical care. Police teams and Fire Engines arrived at the spot, cordoning off the area and initiating investigations to determine the cause.
Delhi Police PRO Sanjay Tyagi said, "We are still investigating whether this was an explosion or something else. If there is any prior link or connection, it will come out during the investigation."
The National Security Guard (NSG) commandos, along with a dog unit, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team, and other expert units, have been deployed at the site. A bomb disposal unit has also been set up to ensure safety and gather evidence.
Authorities have yet to confirm the nature or source of the explosion.
Hours after an explosion near PVR Prashant Vihar in Rohini, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi accused the BJP-led central government of failing to maintain law and order in the national capital. At a press conference, CM Atishi condemned the incident, describing it as the second such blast in the area within two months, following a similar explosion near a CRPF school earlier this year.
“This is a breakdown of law and order in the national capital,” Atishi said. She criticised Union Home Minister Amit Shah for "neglecting the safety of Delhiites," adding, “The BJP and Home Minister Amit Shah are responsible for this situation. They are failing in their only responsibility in the capital.”
