A short circuit in a container packed with 46 motorcycles led to a blaze that destroyed all the two-wheelers on Tuesday evening. The incident took place near the village Nagla Galu on Agra Road in the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh. The driver of the container truck suffered minor burn injuries. The two-wheelers, manufactured by Bajaj, were being transported to Gujarat, according to a report in the Hindi daily 'Hindustan'.  


The driver, Shivpal, a resident of Jaithra town, said he had loaded 46 Bajaj motorcycles on to the container at Pantnagar. Late Tuesday evening, as he neared Nagla Galu village, a short circuit took place in the chamber, sparking a fire. The fire quickly intensified and engulfed all the motorcycles.


The police were notified, but, by the time the fire brigade reached the spot, all the motorcycles had been destroyed. The driver sustained burns on his hands as a result of his efforts to put out the fire. The bikes included 41 Bajaj Pulsars and 5 Platinas.

Fire At Chemical Godown In Tamil Nadu


In a separate incident, a fire broke out at a chemical godown located on the premises of the Tata Electronics Pvt Ltd factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, on September 28. The incident took place around 6 am. No casualties or injuries were reported, according to the police.


According to PTI, seven fire tenders were deployed to contain the blaze, with firefighters battling the flames for hours before bringing the situation under control. 


"The incident occurred at a chemical godown located on the campus at about 6 am. Seven fire tenders were pressed into service. There has been no casualty nor injury to anyone," PTI quoted a senior fire and rescue service official at the Hosur Fire Station as saying.
