Maha Kumbh 2025 Environment Baba: Mahamandaleshwar Avdhoot Baba arrived at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. The holy man is more famously known as 'Environment Baba' because of all the initiatives has taken over the years for the environment.

The seer, sporting heavy gold jewellery and sunglasses said that he has devotees from around 30 countries, and they have resolved to plant more than 1 crore trees in our country.

"In 2016, during a march from Vaishnodevi to Kanyakumari, we planted trees in almost 27 states. After that, devotees started calling me Environment Baba… I have been working on this since 2010…” He said, Sanatan Dharma teaches that everyone should plant 2 trees, 1 of which is needed for our final rites and 1 Peepal tree for oxygen."

He said, that many people in the world may not follow religion but he said that everyone needs oxygen. He gave the example of the COVID-19 pandemic and said temples were closed, what people really needed at that time was oxygen.

He further said over the past few years Maha Kumbh is becoming holier, “it’s a feeling you cannot describe, no one can describe Prayagraj, you can only experience.”

The Maha Kumbh is being celebrated after 12 years, and over 45 crore devotees are expected for the event. During the Maha Kumbh, devotees will gather at the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati (now extinct), to take a holy dip. The Maha Kumbh will conclude on February 26.

The main bathing rituals (Shahi Snan) of the Kumbh will take place on January 14, January 29, and February 3.
