In view of the upcoming festivities across the country, the Central Railways has announced the operation of special trains to facilitate the surge in demand. Ahead of the festivals of Diwali and Chhath Puja when a large population commutes between places, the Central Railways announced operations of 278 special trains.
"We are excited to announce 278 Special Trains for Diwali & Chhath Festivals apart from regular trains to make your travel seamless and enjoyable," said the Central Railways in a post on X.
Details about timings and halts of these trains can be checked by making an enquiry at enquiry.indianrail.gov.in, or the NTES App, the post read.
1. Pune to Sawantwadi Road: The train 01175 will run every Tuesday from October 22 to November 12. It will depart from Pune at 9:35 hours and arrive at Sawantwadi Road at 22: 35 hours.
2. Sawantwadi Road to Pune: Train number 01176 will be operational from October 23 till November 12.
The up-and-down routes will have halts at Lonavala, Kalyan, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangomestwar Road, Ratnagiri, Rajapur Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg and Kudal I
3. Nagpur to Pune: Train number 01209 will run every Saturday from October 26 to November 9. The train will depart from Nagpur at 19:40 hours and arrive in Pune at 11:25 hours.
4. Pune to Nagpur: Train with number 01210 will depart from Pune at 15:50 hours and reach Nagpur at 6:30 hours running every Sunday from October 27 to November 10.
Halts:: Wardha, Dhamangoon, Badnero, Akola, Shegaon, Malkapur, Bhusaval, Manmad, Kopargaon Belapur, Ahmadnagar, Daund Chord Line and Uruli
5. Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Karimnagar: Train number 01067 will run every Tuesday from October 29 to November 5 at 15:30 hours from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to with 8:30 hours arrival time at Karimnagar.
6. Karimnagar to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus: Train 01068 will operate every Wednesday from October 30 to November 6.
Halts: Thane, Kalyan, Igatpuri, Nashik Road, Manmod, Nagarsal, Aurangabad, Jalna, Portur, Selu, Parbhani, Purno, Hazur Sahib Nanded, Mudkhed, Dharmabod, Bosor, Nizamabad, Armut Metpally and Koratio.
7. Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Samantwadi Road: Train number 01179 will be available every Friday from October 18 till November 8.
8. Samantwadi Road to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus: Train number 01180 will run every Friday from October 18 to November 8.
Halts: Thane, Panvel, Pen, Raha, Mangoan, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Sawanda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Avade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgoon, Kankavali, Sindhudurg and Kudai
9. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus: This train with number 01417 will operate every Friday between October 24 and November 14.
10. Shri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus: Train number 01418 will be available on Wednesdays from October 23 to November 13.
Halts: Kolyan, Lonavala, Pune, Jejuri, Lonand, Sotare, Korad Kirloskurvadi, Sangli and Miraj
11. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Latur: Train number 01105 will run every Friday up and down from October 18 to November 8.
Halts: Dodor, Thane, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Urul, Daund, Bhigean, Jeur, Kem, Kurduwadi, Borsi Town, Osmanabad and Harangul
12. Pune to Jodhpur: The train with number 01409 will run on Mondays between October 28 and November 4.
13. Jodhpur to Pune: Train number 01410 will operate every Tuesday from October 29 to November 5.
Halts:: Lonavala, Kalyan, Vasai Road, Palghar, Vapi, Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Ankleshwar, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Abu Road, Falna, Marwar Jn and Pali Marwar.
15. Pune to Dahar Ka Balaji: Train number 01433 will be available every Wednesday from October 30 to November 6.
16. Dahar Ka Balaji to Pune: Train number 01434 will operate every Thursday from October 31 to November 7.
Halts: Lonavala, Kalyan, Vasai Road, Palghar, Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Ankleshwar, Vadodara, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Durgapura and Jaipur
