Thick fog enveloped Delhi and other parts of North India early Saturday morning, as cold weather conditions persisted. India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast dense fog in isolated places in the morning and is likely to be similar in the evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are likely to range between 13°C and 16°C and 6°C and 8°C respectively.
Commuters were seen driving slowly in the Palam area. Forecasts indicate that wind speeds are likely to increase to 4–6 kmph during the afternoon, decreasing to less than 4 kmph from the southwest direction during the evening and night.
As many as 19 flights were diverted at the Delhi airport and more than 200 flights were delayed as low visibility due to dense fog impacted operations for the second straight day. The country's largest airline IndiGo had temporarily put arrivals and departures on hold at the airport early in the morning. An official said 19 flights were diverted at the airport between 12:15 am and 1:30 am due to reduced visibility.
Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), in a post on X at 12.05 am, said that due to dense fog, flight operations have been affected at the airport. "Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," it said.

"#6ETravelAdvisory: Departures and arrivals at #DelhiAirport are currently on hold due to reduced visibility," IndiGo said in a post on X at 1.05 am.
Air India said in an update on X at 1:16 am that poor visibility due to dense fog was impacting flight operations in Delhi and parts of northern India.
The airline also said that once operations resume, flights may still encounter delays due to airside congestion.
Similarly, a dense layer of fog was seen in Hapur of Uttar Pradesh.
The Vaishali area of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh was similarly covered in dense fog. IMD has warned drivers to be careful while commuting during such weather conditions.
Railway operations were also affected by the dense fog, several trains departing from New Delhi Railway station were either delayed or cancelled.
