In a case from Delhi, a 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly robbing his own father of Rs 10 lakh at gunpoint with the help of two accomplices. The accused, identified as Tavleen, is said to have carried out the crime after carefully planning the operation using inside information about his father’s financial activities.
According to the Delhi Police, Tavleen entered his father’s residence armed with a pistol, threatened him, and fired multiple rounds into the air to create panic before fleeing with the cash. The brazen act triggered immediate alarm, prompting a PCR call and a swift police response.
CCTV Footage Cracks The Case
Investigators began scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding areas soon after the incident. The breakthrough came when one of the suspects was seen removing his mask near Anand Vihar. The footage was shown to the victim, who identified the primary accused as his own son, as per reports.
This revelation led police to intensify their efforts, tracking down Tavleen’s movements and narrowing in on his location.
Arrests Across Cities
Tavleen was eventually apprehended from Mukherjee Nagar, while his two associates fled the city. The duo, reportedly former employees at the victim’s factory and residents of Bihar, attempted to escape toward Lucknow.
Police teams intercepted them near a toll plaza and took them into custody. Authorities confirmed that the entire stolen amount of ₹10 lakh was recovered during the operation.
Premeditated Crime, Say Police
During questioning, Tavleen confessed that he had prior knowledge of his father’s plan to handle a large sum of money. Using this information, he allegedly conspired with his accomplices to execute the robbery.
Officials described the crime as premeditated, highlighting how the accused exploited his familiarity with his father’s routines and finances to plan the attack.
All three accused have now been remanded to judicial custody, police said, adding that further investigation is underway to examine the full extent of the conspiracy and the background of those involved.
