Delhi Police have deployed heavy security across the capital to ensure peaceful celebrations during Holi and Ramzan. 

According to DD News, authorities have intensified security measures since Thursday in Delhi to maintain peace during Holi celebrations. Police patrols on motorbikes and foot are active, while the Traffic Police are monitoring drunk driving and any traffic signal violations to ensure public safety.

With a special attention for women’s safety, there are over 50,000 police personnel in the streets of Delhi along with para-military forces. There will be police personnel in civilian clothes as well, to ensure maximum security measures, as per DD News.

Social media to be monitored as well

Delhi Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central M Harsh Vardhan told ANI that there is an adequate security arrangement to maintain law and order in the national capital. He said that different teams were patrolling the streets.

He said that drones and camera surveillance are also being used to monitor different areas, adding that the public is also included, which is why they conducted committee meetings. In certain sensitive areas, additional police force has been deployed, he said

Any possible miscreants are under surveillance; they also undergo checks and preventive actions are also taken against them. He further explained that the police also monitor social media “for any kind of rumour mongering or any wrong information that could be shared”.
