The Delhi Police's Special Cell, which is investigating the bomb threat issued to Delhi Public School RK Puram on Saturday, has traced the threat email to a student. The child, a student of the private school, allegedly sent an email threatening to blow up the building at 6:09 AM.

According to sources in the Special Cell, this child had sent a bomb threat email to his own school as a "mischief". A Delhi Police team immediately reached his house by tracing the IP address. The child admitted to having sent the email as "mischief". The child was then counselled and released and his parents were instructed to keep an eye on his activities.

According to the Special Cell, this child had nothing to do with the bomb threat emails that are being issued in groups to many schools in Delhi. At least 47 schools in Delhi have received bomb threats over the last week. All of them turned out to be hoaxes.

Saturday's threat came barely 24 hours after six schools received bomb threats, forcing the suspension of classes. The threats turned out to be a hoax after a thorough search by the police. The six schools in the National Capital Region that received the bomb threats on Friday were East of Kailash DPS, Salwan Public School, Modern School, Bhatnagar Public School in Paschim Vihar, Venkatesh Public School in Rohini, and Cambridge School. Friday's threat was sent via an email. Initially, information was received about bomb threats at four schools and later two more schools apprised the police of the threat.
