Delhi News: The water supply in the national capital will be affected due to some maintenance work on Tuesday and Wednesday. The affected areas in the national capital include - Varun Niketan, Raja Garden, Ramesh Nagar, Khyala, Rani Bagh, Moti Nagar, Shanta Puri Tagore Garden, Tilak Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Hari Nagar and adjoining areas.






"Due to major repair work in the 1100 mm dia header line feeding to 1100 mm dia West Delhi Main and 1200 mm dia Pitampura Main inside plant premises of Water Treatment Plant Haiderpur Ph-l, the water supply in the affected areas shall not be available or available at low pressure from the morning of October 1 (10 am) to October 2 (2 am), i.e., for 16 hours," the Delhi Jal Board said in a statement.






Parts of the national capital faced a similar outage on September 20 and 21. The areas affected by the disruption included Civil Lines, Hindu Rao Hospital, Kamla Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Pahar Ganj, Old and New Rajinder Nagar, Patel Nagar (East and West), Baljeet Nagar, Prem Nagar, Inderpuri, parts of cantonment areas, and adjoining areas under NDMC and south Delhi. Water tankers will be available on demand from the DJB helpline or the central control room.


On September 18, the water supply was affected in parts of south Delhi for 12 hours due to some maintenance work. The areas that were affected included Green Park, Safdarjung Enclave, SDA, Haus Khas, Munirka, Kishangarh, Masjid Mod, Part of Mehrauli, IIT, INU, AIIMS, Safdarjung Hospital, and adjoining areas of Deer Park.


The Jal Board has advised residents of the affected areas to store a sufficient quantity of water and use it wisely.
