Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met the families of frontline workers who lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic, paying tribute to their service and sacrifice.
Reflecting on their role during the pandemic, Gupta said frontline workers placed duty above everything else and dedicated themselves to ensuring the safety of Delhi’s residents.
Rs 1 Crore Assistance To Families
The Chief Minister handed over financial assistance of Rs 1 crore each to six families, with the support having been pending for years. She assured them that the government stands firmly with them in every situation with “honor, empathy, and resolve.”
Support To Delhi Police Personnel’s Family
An additional Rs 1 crore was provided to the family of Delhi Police Traffic Unit ASI Radhey Shyam, who died in the line of duty.
‘A Symbol Of Resolve’
Gupta said that while no compensation can make up for such an irreparable loss, the assistance stands as a symbol of the government’s unwavering resolve. She added that the sacrifice of these “karma yogis” will always be remembered and that Delhi will remain grateful to them.
