Two suspicious Chinese electronic devices, working like a mobile network jammer, have been recovered from a shop in Delhi's Palika Bazaar. The seizure has been made just ahead of Diwali. "Delhi Police has recovered a suspicious electronic device from a shop during verification in Palika Bazaar. This suspicious electronic device is working like a mobile network jammer. The verification of this device is being done," the police said.


Selling any type of mobile network jammer is illegal in the country. "At present, after verification of the device, legal action will be taken against the shopkeeper," the police added. The capacity of this jammer is 50 meters, police said.






Shopkeeper Arrested From Palika Bazar


During the investigation by Delhi Police, no documents were found with the shopkeeper Ravi Mathur. The Cabinet Secretariat has made guidelines for selling the electronic devices. Only authorised entities, including govt departments and defence forces, are permitted to use such devices under specific conditions outlined by the Cabinet Secretariat.


Delhi Police has informed the Telecommunication Department about the incident of recovery of a Chinese mobile jammer from Palika Bazaar. Now, it has been asked to keep an eye on it in other markets of Delhi as well. 


According to Delhi Police, any person can stop the mobile and phone network in the identified area by using this type of jammer.
