A 35-year-old man lost his life from suffocation after he allegedly swallowed a live chicken chick at Chhindkalo village in the Surguja District of Chhattisgarh. The villagers suspect the incident to be linked to occult practices ('tantra-mantra') aimed at fulfilling the man’s desire to become a father.
The case from Ambikapur left doctors astonished when a post-mortem revealed a live chick inside the deceased's body. After the death of the man, identified as Anand Yadav, was brought to the Medical College Hospital in Ambikapur. Family members claimed that he fainted after returning from a bath.
As per the India Today Report, when doctors performed the autopsy, the cause of death initially remained unclear. However, upon making an incision near his throat, they discovered a fully alive chick lodged within.
Villagers Suspect Occult Practices As Cause Of Death
During the autopsy, doctors initially struggled to determine the cause of death. However, upon examining his throat, they found a live chick, measuring approximately 20 cm, lodged in a way that blocked his airway and food passage, likely resulting in asphyxiation. "This is the first time I have encountered such a case in my career, having conducted over 15,000 post-mortems. The findings shocked us all," Bag said.
Villagers have speculated that Anand's actions might have been influenced by superstitious beliefs as he was in touch with a local 'tantrik' (Occultist).
A few residents suspected that Anand was struggling with infertility. He might have swallowed the alive chick influenced by occult practices in hopes of becoming a father. The local police have been notified and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
