Chhapra: As many as 100 people were injured on Tuesday after a dilapidated shed collapsed in Chhapra in Bihar's Saran district. It is being said that the shed collapsed as it could not support the weight of the people that had gathered on it to watch the orchestra event being held in the area.


The incident took place during the Mahavir Akhara procession the Ishauvpur block of the district. Several people were standing on the shed and watching dance performances during the procession when the shed came tumbling down The people atop the shed as well as the onlookers standing below it sustained injuries in the incident.


After the incident, the injured people were rushed to a nearby government-run hospital in the district, where they are receiving treatment. Some of them are said to be in a critical state.


The visuals of the shed collapse have been captured in a video that has surfaced online. In the video, people can be seen tumbling down after the shed collapsed during the event. People gathered there can be heard screaming and shouting after the collapse.






Last month, around 40 people were injured after the wall of a house collapsed on them in Patna. The incident occurred in Shripalpur area on the outskirts of Patna during a religious function. The majority of those injured in the wall collapse were women.


"At least 40 people were injured when the wall of a house collapsed on them in Shripalpur under the Punpun Police Station limits. The house belongs to Neeraj Kumar of Shripalpur area. When the incident took place, a religious function was going on in Kumar’s residence," Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Rajeev Mishra told news agency PTI.
