Flight operations at Chennai Airport have been disrupted due to dense fog leading to delays and diversions. The authorities have advised passengers to check with their respective airlines for real-time updates.
Taking to X, Chennai (MAA) Airport said, "Passengers be informed that the following flights have been diverted or delayed due to low visibility caused by radiation-type foggy weather conditions over the entire Chennai region, resulting from high moisture levels and a light, variable wind pattern prevailing throughout last night. We recommend passengers check with their respective airlines for real-time updates."
In Chennai on Tuesday, India Meteorological Centre said, "Mist/Haze is likely to prevail during morning hours at isolated pocket."

Meanwhile, the airport authorities were also on high alert following a bomb threat to an inbound international flight. The aircraft, carrying around 237 passengers, landed safely, and a thorough security check was conducted. However, no explosives were found, and the call was later confirmed to be a hoax.
While normalcy has been restored after the bomb threat, flight delays caused by fog continue to impact operations.
