The Telangana police have taken significant action against BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy over alleged remarks made against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Cases have been registered under BNS Sections 356(2), 353(B), and 352 at Banjara Hills, Rajendranagar, and Shadnagar police stations based on complaints by Congress workers. During a media interaction, he had accused the Chief Minister of orchestrating phone tapping of MLAs, MLCs, MPs, and film personalities, including actresses, with the help of private hackers, reports Siasat.
On Saturday (July 25, 2025), the political heat rose further when NSUI (National Students' Union of India) announced a protest outside Kaushik Reddy's residence in Hyderabad. Kaushik Reddy had made serious allegations against CM Revanth Reddy, including claims of phone tapping and issuing threats.
Demand for Immediate Action
Congress leaders have termed the remarks insulting and have demanded immediate action. Police have accused the MLA under the BNS sections of disturbing public order and making offensive statements. According to sources, the investigation has intensified, and swift action is expected soon.
Congress Workers May Take to the Streets
On the other hand, NSUI has declared a protest outside Kaushik Reddy’s residence, increasing tensions in the city. The student organization claims that the BRS leader is spreading false propaganda to defame the government. Congress workers are also preparing to take to the streets, which could worsen the situation.
The ongoing tension between BRS and Congress appears to be spilling onto the streets. While Kaushik Reddy’s supporters are calling it a political conspiracy, Congress is describing the MLA’s actions as unruly behavior. Police have deployed additional forces in the area and are urging people to maintain peace.
