Months ahead of the assembly elections in Bihar, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Tejashwi Yadav called the NDA government 'helpless' in the face of the rising wave of violence. The RJD leader also alleged that the "BJP has turned Bihar into Taliban."
Amid an increase in crime incidents in the state, Yadav, in a post on X, wrote, "BJP has turned Bihar into Taliban! Doctor shot in Gaya. Open firing between two groups in Patna. Woman shot in Patna. Businessman murdered in Rohtas."
He also took a veiled dig at the double-engine government in Bihar and blamed both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the deteriorating law and order situation.
"The Modi-Nitish BJP government is helpless. DK tax-protected goons and criminals are fearless!" he added.
The recent remarks from the former Deputy CM of Bihar come after a series of gang-related violence incidents rocked the state over the past few weeks.
In a recent incident, five unidentified assailants stormed into a private hospital in Patna and shot dead a prisoner on parole in broad daylight.
Tejashwi, in his post, also referred to a retired health official being shot in Gaya this morning. He referred to two recent murders in Rohtas, including the killing of a businessman within 24 hours.
Earlier, well-known businessman Gopal Khemka was shot dead by a gunman. The accused opened fire on Khemka, the owner of Magadh Hospital, just as he stepped out of his car near an apartment in the Gandhi Maidan area.
