A 27-year-old woman on Thursday (May 15) was found dead at her rented house in ​​Patna, Bihar. The accused allegedly tried to burn her body using LPG after the murder in a bid to get rid of the evidence. However, police were able to identify the woman. An investigation is underway to ascertain the reason behind the murder and nab the accused, who was seen on the CCTV.

The incident took place in Anandpuri area, which comes under the jurisdiction of ​​SK Puri police station area. The 27-year-old woman, identified as Sanjana Singh, was a resident of Muzaffarpur. She was preparing for competitive exams and is said to have landed a job in the secretariat. She was supposed to join next month from June 5.

For the past five montshs, she had been living in a rented house, which is in the lane next to Manorama Apartment in Anandpuri area of ​​SK Puri police station area.

After the woman's body was found, her family members reached the spot from Muzaffarpur. They have claimed that there are knife marks on their daughter's neck and that an attempt was made to burn her. The girl's brother is a trainee sub-inspector. 

The police personnel from the local police station reached the spot after being informed about the incident. The cops are gathering evidence and examining the CCTV footage from around the crime spot. The forensics team also reached the spot and also launched an investigation.

As of now, the police is refraining from commenting on the case and the reason behind the incident as probe is still underway. The FSL team is collecting evidence from the spot. They have found blood stains on the bedsheet. Efforts are on to identify and arrest the accused.
