Bihar Weather Update: In the wake of the rising temperature and severe afternoon heat in Nawada, Bihar, the District Magistrate has ordered a halt to all school and other education-related activities. DM Ravi Prakash issued an official letter on Wednesday in this regard.

The District Magistrate made the decision under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023. According to this, educational activities will remain closed after 11:30 PM in all the schools of the district. This order will also apply to pre-schools and Anganwadi centres.

The school managements have been directed to reschedule the educational activities accordingly. This order will be effective from May 14 to 20.

The rain and heat in Bihar this week have left the region humid and guessing on the weather pattern. While 32 districts, including Patna, are under a thunderstorm and rain warning today (Wednesday), 8 others brace for intense heat. According to the Patna Meteorological Centre, light to moderate rainfall is expected in several areas across 32 districts, excluding Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Bhojpur, Arwal, and Buxar, including the capital Patna.

Many places are likely to witness thunderstorms and lightning. A heat and humidity alert in eight of these 32 districts — Patna, Vaishali, West Champaran, Saran, Siwan, Gaya, Nalanda, and Jahanabad.

Districts not expecting rain might see a temperature fluctuation of 1-2 degrees. While Tuesday saw humidity during the day, the evening brought a westerly wind flow, increasing the humidity.
