Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday bowed down to touch Prime Minister Narendra Modi's feet yet again during an event in Darbhanga district.
In a video, that has gone viral, the Bihar CM took everyone by surprise as he tried to touch PM Modi's feet. However, PM Modi stops Nitish Kumar from touching his feet and shook hands with the Bihar CM. Tejashwi Yadav hit out at the Bihar CM following the incident, by saying, "What is unusual? He (CM) has been of late falling at the feet of all. He did so even to officials of his government."
The allusion was to Kumar's behaviour at some functions earlier this year where he had offered to touch the feet of IAS officers and an engineer of a private company to shame them into speedy completion of projects.
In a similar incident, a video went viral where the Bihar CM was seen touching BJP leader RK Sinha's feet on the occasion of Chitragupta Puja, triggering a controversy.
The opposition RJD hit out at the CM for touching the BJP leader's feet by saying that it has become (Nitish's) habit.
At the Darbhanga event on Wednesday, PM Modi showered accolades on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, praising the alliance partner for bringing in good governance in a state which was previously reeling under jungle raj. PM was in Darbhanga to lay the foundation stone for an AIIMS and inaugurated projects worth more than Rs 12,000 crore.
Without naming any party, Modi made a veiled attack on the Congress-RJD combine and lauded the JD(U) leader saying Nitish babu has set up a model of sushasan (good governance).
No praise is too high for him (jitni saraahna ki jaae kam hai) for his contribution in pulling Bihar out of the era of jungle raj, the prime minister said.
