The attacks on police teams in Bihar refuse to abate. The latest case of assault on policemen has come to light from the Motihari district of Bihar, where a police team was attacked in Ward No. 3 of Purbi Sariya Panchayat under the Pahadpur police station area of East Champaran. Two policemen were seriously injured in the incident.
It is said that the police had gone to arrest Shambhu Bhagat's son of this village, against whom a case of kidnapping had been registered. The suspect and an associate had allegedly abducted two girls.
But as the police came to inquire about the youth, his family and neighbours beat up the team with rods and sticks. Sub-inspector Sonu Kumar suffered a fracture in his skull in the assault, reported News18 Hindi. Homeguard jawan Munna Paswan was also seriously injured. Both were hospitalised.

According to the report, a case of kidnapping of two girls had been registered in Paharpur of Motihari. One of the girls was rescued from Bettiah. Based on her statement, the police reached the Paharpur area to arrest the suspect. However, the suspect's family launched an attack on the police to prevent an arrest. After the attack, the police registered another case of assault. However, the police refused to divulge any details.
The policemen were seen whipping out their service pistols in order to deter the attackers. But the assault wouldn't stop. One clip showed three suspects holding a cop while a fourth advanced on him with a stick.
Recently in Bihar's Araria, a police team was attacked with arrows. An arrow pierced the face of a woman cop. In a similar incident, a police team's vehicle was attacked and vandalised in Patna.
