At least five workers were killed after a fire broke out at Rajgarhia Rice Mill in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich due to smoke inhalation. Three others were critically injured in the incident which took place in the Dargah Police station area. The injured workers are undergoing treatment at a hospital. 

Fire officer Vishan Gond said the eight people went up to the dryer, from where smoke was coming put, to check the cause of the blaze. However, they became unconscious dur to smoke. 

"I received information that fire broke out at Rajgarhiya Foods. We sent two fire tenders. We saw that smoke was coming out of the dryer," Gond told ANI. 

"Eight people climbed up to check the cause of the smoke. They became unconscious because of the smoke. The firefighting team brought them out and sent them to the hospital. Five of them have died and three are under treatment...," he added. 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath took congnisance of the accident, said his office in a post on X.  

"The Chief Minister has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased and directed the district administration officials to provide them with proper treatment. He has also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured," said the Chief Minister's Office.
