Baghpat News: A case of alleged honour killing has surfaced in Baghpat, where a married woman was allegedly murdered by her family members and husband. The victim, identified as Suman, was reportedly killed and buried in a sugarcane field after her family discovered her involvement in an extramarital relationship.
According to the police, Suman's murder was a premeditated act carried out by her husband, brother, and other relatives. Enraged over her alleged affair, the accused strangled her to death and hid her body in the sugarcane fields nearby. The incident occurred in the Binoli area, leaving the local community in shock.
Police sources said Suman, who was married to Krishan, a resident of Haryana, had been facing hostility from both her marital and parental families due to her relationship outside the marriage, and that the escalating tensions culminated in the crime.

Police Investigation
The crime came to light when a local watchman alerted the authorities. Upon reaching the site, police officers discovered Suman’s body buried in the sugarcane field. The remains were then sent for a post-mortem examination.
Four individuals, including close family members, have been detained for questioning. Circle Officer Harish Kumar Bhadoria, who is leading the investigation, said efforts are underway to determine whether more individuals were involved in the crime.
The incident has sparked outrage and fear in the locality.
