Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique was shot dead by three assailants on Saturday night in Maharashtra. His funeral was conducted with state honours on Sunday, 14 October. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police are actively investigating the murder case, with new revelations emerging from the interrogation of the arrested suspects.
According to information obtained by the Crime Branch, the arrested accused revealed that Baba Siddique's son, Vandre East MLA Zeeshan Siddique, was also a target in the attack. The accused disclosed that they had been contracted to eliminate both Baba Siddique and Zeeshan Siddique, as the latter was also on the radar of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The alleged assailants told the police that they were ordered to eliminate both Baba and Zeeshan Siddique simultaneously. They added that in the absence of an opportunity to target both, they were instructed to kill whoever was available at the moment.

Baba Siddique Murder: Third Suspect Remains At Large
The police have arrested two suspects, Gurmail Baljit Singh from Haryana and Dharmaraj Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh. Gurmail has a criminal record. However, a third suspect, Shiv Kumar, managed to escape the scene. The police have been tracking him since Saturday night and reportedly spotted him near Panvel on Monday morning. Despite efforts, he remains at large. Multiple police teams have been deployed in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi to capture him. The investigation is being led by the Mumbai Police's Anti-Extortion Cell.
The investigation has also revealed that the three suspects would travel daily from Kurla, where they resided on rent, to Bandra. They frequently used auto-rickshaws for this commute. Once in Bandra, they would monitor locations associated with Baba Siddique and his son Zeeshan, including their residence, office, and event venues.
Police suspect that on the day of the incident, the suspects were given information that Baba and Zeeshan Siddique were present at the same location. Baba Siddique was waylaid by three persons at Kher Nagar in Mumbai's Bandra area just outside his MLA son's office.
